Cobbler – Basic Recipe

1 cup sugar

2-3 tablespoons sugar

1 cup self rising flour

1 cup milk

2 cups fruit of your choice (ex.: blueberries, peaches, blackberries, cherries)

1 stick of butter


Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Melt the stick of butter in the pan/dish you intend to bake in.

Put the frozen fruit in a pot and sprinkle with 2-3 tablespoons of sugar.  Heat on medium until it begins to bring out the juices in your fruit.

Combine the flour and sugar in a bowl, then add the milk and stir (or whisk).

Pour the flour/sugar/milk batter into the pan/dish with the melted butter.

Spoon the fruit into the baking dish (no need to stir).

Bake in oven approximately 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
